RANGIWAHIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Quite a large number of townspeople left by the coaches on 11th instant, en route for the Christchurch Exhibition. Given the same lovely weather as we are enjoying at present, they Biiould have a delightful trip. Judging by the large numbers ot sheep and cattle in the yards on Monday and the unusually large attendance of farmers and dealers the experiment of holding fortnightly, instead of monthly, sales will be completely successful. Our township is becoming quite an important stock centre, and as the back country becomes cleared and grassed the business must steadily mcrease. The’ first match on the new asphalt tennis court took place on Saturday between teams representing Eangiwahia and Euahine, before quite a_ large gathering of spectators. The visitors and spectators were entertained at afternoon tea by the lady members of Eangiwahia Club. The match ended in a win for Eangiwahia by eight sets to two, or 31-t points to 28i3. Most of the games were closely contested. Ibc following are the scores in the different games ; Doubles. EUAIIIXE. EaXOIW.UIIA. D H. Guthrie & F. J. Say well A C. C. Wills 41 P. H. Eoache 50 T.
