ALLEGED CHILD MURDER.

Per Press Association. Wellington, February 11. Tho adjourned inquest pi\ the body of the infant found buried in the bush neat Otaki, last Thursday, was held to-day. The alleged mother of the child, Matilda Morris, was present. Bho is under n.rrest on the charge of murder. The evidence given showed that the mother left the place she had been living at one morning with the child and arrived that evening at another lions j without it. Suspicions were aroused and, it being found that the mother’s story was unsatisfactory, the police wore communicated with, tho result being that tho mother showed where tho body was buried.

'’The'medical evidence $.6 the inquest was indefinite, and the jury returned the following verdict, “That Albert Morris met his death on January 21, hut there was not sufficient evidence to show the actual cause of death.”
