The Canterbury Jockey Club’s summer lileoting opened to-day in dull weather, 'the attendance was only moderate and the fields were small. The totalisator investments amounted to <£5,403. Results;— Trial Stakes, one mile. —Harita (J. Pine) 1, Harvest 2, Mango 3. Yardo and Sea King wore scratched. Ay on easily. Time, Imin 43sec. Dividend, £3 10s. Hornsby AVolter, seven furlongs.—De Witte 1, Blythemaid 3, Count Gorton 3. Scratched: Balsam and Reduction. Won easily. Time, Imin 30sc-e. Dividend, £2 19s. Filly Stakes —Athena X, Amboiso 2, Aimee Soult 3. Also started : Tremulous. Won by a length. Aimco Soult whipped round at the start and lost several lengths. Time, Imin 17 3-3 socs, Div., .£l2 2s.

Midsummer Handicap—Chryseis 1, Lapland 2, Thunderer 3. Also started: Signalman, Stcpdincer. Idaslt: Signalman whipped round at the start,'. and took no part in the race. Chryseis led all the way, and won by two and a half lengths, Time, 2min 39 2-5 sec. Div., £3 10s,

Craven Plate—Aeolus 1, Golden Cairn 2, Bucolcuch 3. Also started: Stronghold, Balsam, Tessera. Tessera bolted twice before the start, and was taken off the course, while Balsam was left at the post. Jockey and Trainer Disqualified

Ehetaiiuna, February 8.

The stewards of the Eketahuua Racing Club held an inquiry last night into the running of Monsieur Boaucaire in the Flying Handicap. The evidence showed the horse was pulled and the jockey Anderson and trainer woro disqualified for six months.
