Masterton, February 7.

Tho Masterton Band will leave in the morning for tbo Christchurch contest. They are five men short, namely throe cornets and two bassos.

Carterton beat Masterton at bowling at Carterton to-day in first round by US) to 88.

In the senior cricket matches to-day Carlton B defeated Star by sis wickets.;

Carterton beat U.F.C.A. by ten wickets. MouusoH made one hundred and eight runs in Carterton’s first innings. Tho Post Office staff presented Mr W, H. S. Nicholls, postmaster, who has been transferred to the Thames, with a gold watch. Mr Nioholls leaves to-morrow.
