The crews of both barques are safe at Lord Howe Island. The Malgwyn was abandoned when on her beam ends, and the Annasoma was totally wrecked on Middleton Beef. Mrs Nichools, a resident on Lord Howe Island, telegraphed that she was looking after the crews, but was short of provisions, and urged despatch of a Government steamer. The two crew-s number sixty-eight. The Annasonia’s crew, after taking to tho boats, were picked up by the schooner Stanley and landed on Lord Howe Island on Jnnu- ! ary 25th-, tho Malgwyn’s arriving at the j same date. The Government will despatch ! the steamer Captain Cook with supplies for ■ the shipwrecked men, and it is expected : she will leave early to-morrow.
