HOLLOWAY’S DRAMATIC CO.
“Two Little Vagabonds.”
Among play-goers the Holloway Dramatic Company has always been popular, and this reputation was no doubt responsible for a most satisfactory attendance at Marlon Opera House last evening, when the company presented “Two Little Vagabonds.” Tho story of the drama established a firm hold on popular favour last evening, and it owes its attractiveness to its powerful pathetic appeal. Tho dramatist has given his characters many opportunities of which the company is well able to take the fullest advantage, and all the members contributed to a remarkably fine and complete performance. Miss Beatrice Holloway and Miss Mabel Russell, as the two “rags.,” received a hearty welcome at each appearance. Their parts, demanding no little talent in their pourtrayal, were cleverly accomplished. The most consistent and thoroughly artistic characterisation of the play was undoubtedly that of Miss Rosa Conroy as Marion Thornton (wife of Thornton), and she played tho part most capably, the emotional passages being one of the most impressive features of tho production. Tho lengthy list of other artists filled their parts to perfection and were splendidly received. The scenery was very high-class and the stage mechanism was without a flaw. The company appear at Feilding to-night.
