MANGAWEKA SPORTS.

There was a large attendance at the Sports held at Mangaweka yesterday. The meeting was well controlled and (he secretarial work was capablyundertaken by Mr It. Summers. It was a day that will be long remembered by tho children, as over 300 toys were distributed. The committee offered every facility to picnic parties by supplying hot water, etc., which was much appreciated. Marton Band ’(under Bandmaster Pedersen) gave an excellent programme of thirteen selections. Their playing was of a high order. On the train journey to and from Mangaweka several selections were given to the delight of passengers. Jlr W. 11. Walker attended the sports in the interests of the New Zealand Athletic Union.
