There were over 10,000 bales of wool offered at Wellington to-day. The quality was such that only in a minority of cases keen competition was manifested. Where the wool suited the requirements of manufacturers, good prices were made and the best kinds showed an advance of fully a farthing on the December rates. Poorer conditioned and inferior sorts were very much neglected. The best price of the sale was 13Jd for 22 bales of fine half bred, sold on account of P. Neave, Pelorus Sounds. Fifteen bales of second half bred, from the same grower, made 12|d. The range of prices were as follows ; —Halfbreds, lid to X3Jd ; super fine crossbreds, lid to 12,Jd ; medium ditto, 10| to ll|d ; coarse ditto, lOd to lljd; inferior ditto, BJd to 92d; pieces and bellies, 6d to Old; locks, 4d to •S^d; lambs, super, lid to lljd ; lambs, medium, 9d to lid; ditto seedy and inferior, 6Jd to B|d. I
