The Stock Market.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on their fortnightly stock sale, .held at Pahiatua yesterday, as follows Our list was confined to cattle, of which no had a full yarding, embracing all classes, and the fact of the quality being good and the recent serviceable rains of late had a very appreciable effect on the bidding, cvoiy pen, with two exceptions, soiling under the hammer, the unsold lots changing hands before the close of the sale, with the result that wo effected a complete clearance. Grown steers made from £5 lus to £o 15s, 3-year steers JM to M 10a, 2-vCiir steers ,£3 to X 3 10s, IS-.months steers, -17 s to sos, yearlings 25s to 30s, lorward cows 40s to 60s, cows and calves £2 12s Gd, 2-year heifers 35s to 40s, yearling heifers 25s to 30s.

Sheep wore in short supply and mP Into* were sold at satisfactory prices. We quote— Fat wethers 16s, fat ewes 33s 9d, breeding owing ewes (mixed ages) Pa 2d. medium lambs 7s, 2 tooth wethers 12s Oil, forward bullocks £i 10s to M B’s. 2 year steers £3, 1-8 months and two years £2 12s, 18 months 3Ss to £2, far cows .‘:3 Ss to A’3 15b, forward =£2 10s to £2 15?, stores £1 15s to £t ?.i Gd, springing heifers J 35 to £o, 2 year heifers in* calf 37s Gd, heifers with calves at foot 2s. Messrs Abraham & Williams report on their usual monthly Taibnp-JSaK : A full yarding of cattle met with ,a ready fate. Only two pens of sheep came forward; for a small lot of lambs 9= was offered. Hides —Prices are easier. Leather unchanged ; basils, in general, lower by Id to Id per lb.
