FLOODS IN WAIKATO.
Per Press Association. Hamilton, January 17.
It is believed that a man named Thos. Waugh has been drowned in the flood at Whaiawhata. Several bridges have been washed away in this district, and roads have been cut up badly. Many families have been driven from their homes. Flax mills have been inundated, and the employees thrown out of work. It is impossible to estimate the damage at present. ’
