Good yarding of cattle of good quality, A lino of owes and lambs fetched Its Gd per head, ewes Os 7d to 13s Gd, fat owes 13s Gd to Its 3d, wethers 14s Gd. fat wether? l!-s Gd to 17s Gd. good shorn lambs Gs Id to Os Od, woolly lambs 11s Od.to 11s lOd ; yearling cattle 15s to 17s Gd, cows and calves A 1 7s to Mi 10s, forward cows XI 19s to X 3, fat cows £3 5s to XI, steers Mi 15s to X2 18s, forward steers X 3 12s Gd, springing cows X 3 Is to X 5, yearling steers X 1 5s to X2 11s.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their Johnsonville salo as follows : A full entry of prime light weight came forward. The very hot weather has a very depressing effect on the market. Bidding was quiet. Beef made up to 21s. Prices ranged from 7s to Bs. Sheep were mostly prime. Best ewes 15s Gd, wethers 17s Gd, light plain lambs Os lid and 10s Gu.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:—At our Huntcrville sale on Tuesday there was a full yarding of both sucep and cattle, buyers being present from all parts of the district. Good business resulted, nearly every line being cleared under the hammer. Quotations •. Sheep, rape lambs 8s 7d, cull iambs 6s Id, forward wethers los 7d, store ewes 10s 3d, cull ewes ss. Cattle: Small yearling steers 31s, yearling heifers 325, cows with calves at foot £2 8s to £2 10s, mixed heifers 335, store cows 38s to 40s, forward con's £3 6s, IS-months steers 495, 2-year steers £2 10s to £3 4s, 21-year steers £3 15s, 4-year bullocks £5 6s. Pigs: Weauers Os 3d. Mc«>rs Gorton and Son send us a belated report of Feilding and Bulls sale as follows :—We quote ; At Feilding forward bullocks made £5 17s to £6 9s, fat heifers £4 7s to £5, forward empty heifer* £3 7s 6d, empty heifers £2 2s Gd to £2 4s, 18-months heifers 355, low conditioned do. 18s to 245, mixed yearlings 355, cows in milk £4 to £4 os, springing cow* £3, old cows 275, cull 18-months cattle 11s, weauers 8s Gd. Sheep : 2-tooth wethers 13s 3d to 15s Gd, 4 and 6-tooth wethers los, cull ewes and lambs, all counted, 4s 9d, rape lambs 8s 7d to 9s, woolly lambs 11s. At Bulls.lS-months steers made 32s Cd to £2 9s Gd, 18-months heifers 30s to 325, yearling heifers 17s to 21s, mixed yearlings 255, fat cows £3 19s to £4 10s.
