Wool Sales.
Press Asso cir.tiou—Copy right. London, January 15. Wool sales opened brisk with prices unchanged. Per Press Association. L’ mu Eli, January 15. The second wool salo of the season was held to-day, when a record was established in tho number of bales offered, the prices realised, and the number of outside buyers present. A total of nearly 1.2,000 bales was offered. Bidding was spirited throughout. Prices ranged as follow : Pino light crossbred 12jd to 13-id, medium do lid to 12)d, coarse do 10ld to 12d, fair half-bred 12d to 13id, bush stained and bred lOd to lid, bulky pieces Sid to Old, average pieces 7ld to Shi, locks Rcl to sld, bright lambs 12d to 13d, average lambsTOd to lid. Wellington, January 10, A London cable states that tho January sales have opened. The market for Merinos is very firm, but there is no quotable alteration in value, whilst all descriptions of crossbred show good competition>t an increase of five per cent on closing rates of last sales.
