Austin, the Victorian inventor, who submitted an invention to tho War Office, has informed an interviewer that twice attempts were made to search himself and his cabin on his way Homo aboard tho Mongolia, but the efforts failed. Ho says lie did not keep an appointment to land at Marseilles, the man going in his stead being knocked on tho head and searched.
Germans and Japanese approached Austin in London, vainly urging him to disclose tho secret whereby lie claims to bo able to sight big guns with absolute accuracy up to a range of twelve miles .
