ST. ANDREW’S ORPHANAGE.

Press Association. Nelson, January 10. The annual meeting of St. Andrew’s -Orphanage was held today. The report showed that 80 children were in the homes, of whom 28 wore from .Nelson, 9 from Marlborough, 13 from Inangahua and Fuller, 10 from Greymouth, 5 from Takaka, 14 from Wellington, and 1 from Napier. The amount contributed by charitable aid boards was £341 13s ; by parents and guardians, £479 10s; and ordinary subscriptions increased from £7 6 8s to £l7O 7s, but receipts from Orange lodges had fallen off. The present credit balance is £l4O. Reports showed that good work is being done, especially in the rescue of children whose training is well spoken of.
