Addington Markets.

I Per Press Association. Chbistohuboh, January 9. At Addington the entries of stock were ! large in all departments, but the attendi anoeof buyers was only, moderate, Patj cattle showed a decline of almost £1 per head. Store sheep were dull of sale. Pat lambs and fat sheep were also down, in price. Pigs were fairly firm, and store and dairy cattle were dull of sale. Store Sheep—About 800 sheep were yarded, made up principally of reject lambs and backward store wether*, and the demand was very light. Lambs brought 6a 6d to 8s 9d, and a special line sold at X2s fid. Wethers wore hard to sell at any price. Pat Lambs.—There was a yarding of about 8500 fat lambs, but the quality was hardly up to that of last week, and prices were appreciably easier all round. Prime freezers made 15s to 18s 3d, medium 12a 6d to 14s 6d, and light 9s to 12s. Pat Sheep.—The demand was very slack and prices easier all round. Prime wethers made 18s to 22s 6d, lighter 15s 3d to 17s 6d, prime ewes 16s Id, medium 12s to 14s, aged and inferior 7s to 11*

6d. Fat Cattle.—The yarding of fat cattle comprised 335 head, and was much beyond requirements. The market consequently was rather dull, and prime beef was down about £1 per head. Steers brought £5 17s Cd to £9 17s 6d, heifers £\ 17s 6d to £7 17s 6d, and cows £4 5s to £6 ss, equal to 15s to 22s per lOOlbs. Store and Dairy.—The entries in those classes of stock were large, but there was practically no demand, and sales wore effected at exceptionally low prices, a good proportion being passed in. Pigs.—There was a good entry of both .fat and store pigs, the former being rather easier than last week. Baconors made 40s to 545, equal to 4d per lb.; porkers, 28s to 40s, equal to 4ld per lb.; large stores, 20s to 265; medium 15s to 18s, and weanors 10s to 14s 6d.

Napier, January 10.

The C.C. and D. Co, have cabled the following report from their London office on the frozen meat market: — Prices are unchanged, but the market is weaker, and the tendency is downward.
