The Chess Congress resumed this morning, when the unfinished games in the 18th round were continued, an effort being made to finish the remaining three rounds to obviate the necessity of playing on Friday morning. Parker beat Gifford on the 52nd move and Davies beat Knramer on the 39th move* This game was entered for the brilliancy prize. Pleasants beat James on the 55th move. Viner beat Grierson on the 58th move. The game between Yiner and B. Mason concluded this morning. It began on the 13th round, lasted 10 hours, and occupied four sittings. It was agreed to draw on the 76th move.
