Press Association. Taihape, January 5. A lad named Stanley McCormick, who was on a visit to his uncle here, was drowned in the Hautapn last evening. An inquest will probably be held to-day. Auckland, January 4. A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest on the body of John Belshaw, who was found dead at Harapepe on Wednesday with a rifle alongside him. New ‘Plymouth, January 5. A young man hamed Wm. Wilson, working on the deviation, caught his foot in the points and was knocked down by a loaded truck; which went over his head. Small hopes are entertained of his recovery.
