MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
THURSDAY’S SITTING. ,'z (Before Mr. W. R.*McKean, S.jM.) The usual sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was Held last Thursday, before Mr. VV. R. McKean, S.M. No Lights, For driving a 'horse and gig in Harris Street without a Mght on December 22nd, John Russell was (nod 2s 6d and ordered to pay 7s Court costs., ■' For committing a similar offence m Manukau Road on the same nalo. Albert Sears, who did not appeal-, was lined Os and ordered to pay 7s Court costs. ■ Failing to Register Apiary, The Department of Agriculture proceeded against J. Schlaepfcr for failing to register an apiary, under the Apiaries Act. 1908. Defendant, who pleaded guilty, said he had no intention of committing an olfencc. Apiaries were to he registered every three years ami lie had overlooked the fact that this was the third year. The representative of the Deourtment said he did not press for a penalty, but brought the ease merely as a warning to beekeepers, who were I compelled to register. Defendant was ordered to pay 7s Court costs.
