WEDNESDAY’S MEETING. The Borough Council met on We nesdav night, when there were pi sent: The Mayor, Mr. C. K. Lawr Crs D. R. Hamilton, R- Hi. McGoug J. H. Keith, A. P. Daysh, K- Bilke J. Patterson, F. J- Morrow, the lov clerk (Mr. J'. F. Deane), the foremi (Mr, S. Clews), and the electrical e gineer (Mr. W. Wyatt). An apology for absence was r ceived from Cr G. H, Armstrong. Auctioneers’ Licenses. Auctioneers’ licenses were giantc the Franklin Farmers’ Auctioneenn Company (Mr. J. T. Stembndge, NZ. Loan and Mercantile Agenc Co., Ltd. (Mr F. S. Harris), an Messrs. Alfred Buckland and born Ltd. (Mr. Keg. J. Purdy). Technical School Land., The Under-Secreteary of the De partment of Internal Affaiars advised by clirectiton of the Minister, tha power bad been given in Section 2< of the Reserves and Other Lana; Disposal and Public Schools Enipow ering Act of last session, validating the Council’s action in purchasing ar area of land to erect the Technica School and for handing over this lane tot the Education Board.— Received Domain Drain.

In connection with the Councils application for a subsidy towards the piping of the Domain drain, the Education Board instructed that 'it woulci grant £35 towards the cost or the work.- —On the motion of the Mayor, the Board was accorded a hearty vote of thank,s for its assistance in the matter.

Request to Stop Express. The District Traffic Manager, Nev Zealand Railways, in reply to th> Council’s request to have the Thame; express train stopped at Papakura to allow children attending the Puke kohe Technical School to alight stated that the matter would be duh considered. It was decided to writi the Prime Minister pointing out the necessity of having the express stopped in the interests of the school children, and that ova” 2(. children from Papakura would attend the school. Finance. Accounts amounting to £791 14s 10s were passed for payment. The debit balance of the distiict fund account was shown al 5144 7s 2d..
