Last year a most successful "neeting was held, and it is safe tc predict that last year's gathering will eclipse last year's record. NEW SCHOOL. Early next week, a commencement will be made with the erection of the new school on the sj>.te kjnown as iiasgows, situated on the TuakauAikckohe Road. The Education ; 3oa<W is erecting the buildjng by day abour under a capable building foreman, in lieu of letting a contract, t being the experience of the Eduction Department that it is cheaper to bi*ld by means of day labour. The lew building, which w'.ll be a large me, is capable of comfortably ac:ommodating about 250 children. Foi nany years past the school site question was r. burning topic among houseloldcrs. and it is pleasing to chronicle that a decision has been arrived it, which should meet \tf.tH the approval of all concerned and in ..the interests of the district as a whole.
