WEDDING BELLS.
■ WATSON—NICOL. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Eastport Road, Te Arena, on December 22, by the Rev. A. Hopper, of Te Arohn, the contracting parties being Miss Alice Amelia Nicol, second daughter of Mr. ana Mrs. J. Nicol, well-known Eastport Road settlers, and Mr. Kenneth Gordon Watson, of Pukekohe, fifth son oi Mr. T. Watson, of Papal:urn. The bride, who was given away by her father, was prettily attired in white crepe-de-chine, with pearl trimmings, and she wore the customary veil and orange blossoms. Her sister, Miss Belle Nicol, was in attendance as bridesmaid, wearing lavender American silk, with black tulle hat trimmed with lavender. Both bride and maid carried dainty shower bouquets of i-oses, sweet psas and asparagus fern. Mr. Stan. Watson (brother of the bridegroom) acted as best man. After the ceremony about one hundred relatives and friends were entertained to a sumptuous wedding breakfast at the residence of the bride’s parents, where eulogistic toasts were honoured, and the large number or costly and attractive gifts inspected. Mr. and Mrs. Watson later left, amid showers of confetti and good wishes, by ear, en route for Rotorua, where the honeymoon was spent. The bride’s travelling costume was of nattier blue cloth with a pretty black tulle hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Watson have taken up their residence in Pukekohe.
