Mr. John Grainger, editor of "The Waikuto Independent," Cambridge, succeeds Mr. T. E. McMillan as editor-manager of the "Times." Mr. Grainger takes charge from the beginning of the New Year. At Wednesday's meeting of the Franklin County Council, Miss Ada Jenkins, who has been employed on tho stafT of the council for the last four years, tendered her resignation. The chairman, Cr. Claud Motion, said that during her association with the stall',"Miss Jenkins had proved herself to be a very ellicicnt girl. He understood that her leason for resigning t vas on account of her approaching marriage. He moved that the resignation be accepted, and that the council places on record its appreciation of the ellicicnt services rendered by Miss Jenkins during the past four years, and that as the council understood the resignation was owing to her approaching marriage, it tenders its best wishes for her future happiness, ami that she be voted a b:>nus of >lO. Mr. Alan P. Day, county clerk, endorsed the chairman's remarks, adding that Miss Jenkins was u very ellicicnt girl. The motion was curried unanimously. Members of the staff met Miss Jenkins yesterday afternoon, and Mr. Alan P. Day, on their behalf, presented her r ylth a roll of notes t»s> a token of the esteem in which she was held by them. Mr. Day wished the recipient happiness in 'the future. Miss Jenkins suitably responded.
