THE WAIKATO RIVER.

WATERWAYS COMMISSION.

At a meeting of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, the following resolution was passed, and will be forwarded to the Minister for Marine:—"This chamber would respectfully suggest that the sittings uf the Waterways Commission should be held early in the autumn, so that the Waikato River could be inspected under shallow conditions in the lower reaches. The Hamilton Chamber will be pleased to extend every assistance to the cofiimission at any time, as it is now desirous of seeing this national waterway made available for vessels of deeper draught than the present river fleet."
