GREAT SOUTH ROAD, PAPAKURA.

PROPOSED REGRADING.

Mr. T. D. Campbell, representing the Papakura Town Board, waited on the Manukau County Council on Tuesday and Hsked if the council could assist the Town Board in regiadina the portion of the Great South Road between the Papakura Farmers' Union store and* the Papakura police court, a distance of about 15 chains. Mr. Campbell said the board had called tenders for the work, but had been unsuccessful. The board would do the metalling if the County Council would assist with the excavation work.

The chairman said the council would do what it could to assist them in the matter.

The engineer, Mr. W. J. Lopdell, was instructed to inspect the proposed work and report on it at a later date.
