ANOTHER POLL TO BE TAKEN

At the meeting of the Borough Council on Wednesday night, the town clerk read the result of the proposal to raise a loan of £4IOO for the purpose of acquiring Roose's Bush, which had been rejected. The Mayor said the result the poll had not given the council t failguide as to the opinion of the people. He contended that an extended option should be obtained, and the proposal again submitted to the ratepayers on the day of the municipal elections in April. ' This would give the ratepayers. an opportunity to say whether they wanted it or not. Crs. Daysh and McGough said the cwner should be asked to modify the conditions on which it was offered to the council. Tliev thought the roadway scheme should be eliminated. On the motion of Crs. Daysh and Morrow, it was decided to communicate with Mr. Roose asking him to modify the conditions.
