PERSONAL.
The funeral of the late Mrs. James Blake, wife of the manager of the Waiuku Cutter Factory, takes place in Pukrlvohe to-day. Deceased passed away at the Auckland Hospital on Sunday night. 1 Mr. T. E. McMillan, editor of "The franklin and Pukekohe Times, who has resigned his position, leaves Pukekohe at the cm\ of the present month to take up a similar appointment on "The Ohineinuri Gazette" (Paeroa), published three times a week. At last night's meeting of the Papakura Town Board, Mr. S. Evans was appointed chairman of the beard on the motion of Messrs. Montgomery and McLcnnan, In returning thunks for the honour conferred, on him. Mr. rJvans said he would do all in his power to conserve the inleie:;ts of the district. , Owing to health reasons Dr. A. W. I' fvookficld tendered his resignation as a member of the Papukuia TV'-m Board at last night's meeting. On the motion of Messrs. Evans and Joni'c 'he resignation was accepted with regret, and it was decided to place on record the board's appreciation of tiie doctor';; past services. 'l'ne board members expressed i wish, lor a speedy recovery. |
