"How many wives do not go through their husbands' pocketsend vice versa?" asked a lawyer in the heat of an eloquent address to the jury in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth the other day. The virtues and failings of-husbands and wives were under consideration, and counsel failed to remember the scarcity of pockets in the attire of the wives.
