CRIME IN PARIS.

A series of sensational crimes, ranging from robbery on a large bcale to brutal murder, occupies a considerable part of the French press, and there is evidence tending to prove that they are the work of organised bands of bandits. An inspector of Police of Paris, killed while tracking utomobile bandits, and a young actress, who was killed in a Marseilles hrt«l for her jewellery, are the latest vit tims, writes the Paris correspond•t of the Daily Chronicle. v The murder of the actress, Mile.. Schmitt, who had been dancing at a music hall in the Mediterranean port for about a month, ceupied an apartment in a prominent hotel with a woman friend, Mme. A bag left behind by the men contained a full set of burglars' tools and false beards.
