DISTRICT NEWS.

PAERATA.

PROPOSED SCHOOL

Nothing further has materialised regarding the prospective school for Paerata, and pertinent questions are being asked as to the reason for .this chronic procrastination. Some years ago the erection of a school jeemed assured, and it is said that only a local dispute over the site defeated the project. Recently the question was revived, and it was announced that the site difficulty had been settled. What of the committee that has this matter in hand ? METAL CRUSHING.

Settlers in this • district may take heart from the fact that the County Council's stone crusher has arrrVed at the Paerata quarry, and is busy pounding out sizeable metal, presumably for the roads of this district.
