POPULAR PICTURES. TOM MIX—"WESTERN BLOOD." To-morrow night Popular Pictures will feature at the Oddfellows' Hal. the greatest cowboy actor in the world. Tex Wilson (Tom Mix) ranch owner of the true American type, has contracted to gather horses for the Government. His place is in New Mexico. He is on his way to Los Angeles with a shipment, and when near the city he leaves the train, mounts his horse and gallops ahead. On the outskirts of the city he sees a horse running away with a girl. He races to her side and lifts her from her saddle on to the back of his own hoise. The girl is annoyed because, as she tells him. she believed she could'have managed the horse herself if he had not bothered her. She soon calms down and shows a liking for Tex. She is Roberta (Victoria Forde), the daughter of Colonel Stevens (Frank Clark), who is in charge of the U.S. remount station in Los Angeles. The girl invites Tom to a party. As soon as he arrives he finds lie is the only man not in full dress. An admirer of Roberta declares he didn't .know the party was to be a "costume affair." Tex o-ets this man outside and forces the man to change clothes with him. Later Tex is giving a party on the ranch. He arrays ail the cowboys in full-dress suits despite their protests. Enemies »f the Government raid the ranch, capture Roberta and carry her across the border. Tex follows and lesuces her.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30. The screen at the Oddfellows' Hall will again be graced by the "Little Disturber" of "Hearts of the World" on Tuesday' next, when she will be seen in her latest Paramount picture, "Peppy Polly." Dorothy Gfsb has a most amusing role, in which she disturbs a horrible reformatory in the liveliest style. , December 7.- "The Woman Thou Gavest Me."
LYCEUM PICTURES. SATURDAY. Sessile Hayakawa and his .vile. T.-'iiru Aoki, are both featured in the Haworth special feaure, "Bonds of Honour," in which the celebrated Japanese artist has the difficult task of performing dual roles of twin brothers, both exactly dissimilar. That he carries this out with perfect success is a tribute to his versatility and artistry. The story is fast-moving throughout, and the introduction of some nice Hunnish treachery and spies lends excitement to an interesting theme. Both settings and photography are of unusual excellence. This is a powerful story and full of exciting events. The supports are topical, scenic and a one-reel comedy.
