SATISFACTORY RANGER.

A RECORD HAUL. "The town has been cleaned out of all recognition as far as straying stock is concerned," said a member at Monday night's meeting of the Papakura Town Board, when the chairman reported that steps had been taken to repair the fences at the pound. It was reported that in one week the ranger had impounded 55 head of cattle belonging to one owner. "And he has collected 12s off one man in two days," retorted another. "He is a conscientious worker, and I see him down our road nearly every night," was the remark from a representative of the ratepayers. On the whole members of the board were of the opinion that the ranger was doing excellent work.
