THE SEMI-FINAL. Wright v. Armstrong. The semi-final between E. Wright (Onehunga) and G. Armstrong (Puke-1-ohe) winners of A and C sections respectively, attracted considerable interest. From the commencement both teams played careful bowls, rnd Wright was first to score, but Armstrong soon overtook his opponent. From the third head until the finish there was not more than two pints' difference beween the teams. First Wright would forge ahead, and then Armstrong, and throughout the game was full of exciting incidents. A feature of the game was the driving' of Duncan Roulston, who proved himself very deadly on a bowl that was lying short. Applause was frequent' on both sides. At the Mb head the game was 10 all, but Armstrong got two, leaving Wright to get 3 to win on the 21st head. However, he had the position at the finish. and missed, making a draw of it by the narrowest of margins. Annstrong won by 21 points to 20. Fitness, winner of B section, will meet G. Armstrong at a later date.
