LYCEUM PICTURES.
SATURDAY,
" The Man Who Turned White,' starring H. B. Warner, the noted English actor, is a spectacular and vivid drama of the great Sahara desert. In order to realistically ptfrtray the big scenes with their Bedouins. Dervishes, Mchammedans, Orienta! dancing girls, and Arabian atmosphere, particular care had to bt taken in selecting the proper types. Camels, too, had to be secured, for a caravan is shown traversing the desert with Bedouins in wild pursuit or. .horseback. When the scenes were in action the weird concatenation o1 alien tongues, mixed with the neighing of horses, the peculiar whine of the Asiatic ruminants, and the yells of the Mohammedans and Hindus would drown out any streets of Cairo tarophony ever perpetrated. This picture is recommended.
MONDAY. "The. Hayseeds Come to Town, - ' t( be shown on Monday next, depicts the visit to town of Dad, Mum, and all the Havs&d family. Sydney is the scene of their exploits, and the picture is 4000 ft. of wholesome fun. All the picture was acted in the open air. Comedy stunts were done at Sydney railway station, in George Street, outside the post office, Hotel Australia, Hyde Park, Circular Quay the Manly boat, Manly beach, Sydney Zoo, the Domain, the Gardens, Whit<City; in fact, every important pat;l of 'Sydney was used as background for the picture. In the other Statethe second Hayseeds picture has eclipsed the gi-eat success of the first. No doubt this wil l be the experience in New Zealand. "The Hayseeds'' pictures are new and novel, and are making for t'umselves a very big public. Usual prices only.
