MANUKAU COUNTY ELECTION.

THE NOMINATIONS. .Nominations for seats on the Manukau County Council resulted in three sitting members being returned unopposed. They were:—S. W. House, Mangere Riding; A. E. Hattaway, Pakuranga; and F. Mclntyre Waters, Papatoetoe. In the case of the Papakura Riding, the retiring member, Mr D. A. Reid, died on Saturday, after three years of service on the council, and the only olher candidate, Mr J. M. Davies, has been declared elected. The following are the other nominations:—'Turanga Riding, F. H. Brownhill (retiring member) and F. Granger; Wairoa (two scats), A. D. Bell (retiring chairman), J. Luke (retiring member), S. A. Browne, and F, Kearslev.
