PUKEKOHE TENNIS CLUB.

OFFICIAL OPENING. The official opening of the Pukekohe Tennis Club courts took place on Saturday last in ideal weather. The attendance was estimated at about a century, visitors hailing from Bom bay, Pukekohe East, Buckland and Tuakau. The opening ceremony was performed b\ the president of the club, Mr. J. Walter Johns, who m the course <if a neat speech urged members to take a keen interest m the club's welfare, and he was confiden' it would soon grow into a very strong body. Amidst loua applause, the pre sident's wife drove the first ball over the net. Play was indulged in, ano soon some keen contests eventuated. Afternoon tea was dispensed and duly appreciated.
