STRANGE EVIDENCE. 500,000 BLOOD SUCKEKS AT WORK. The other day on a farm not a hundred miles from Auckland a milking cow was found dead, having fallen over a bank. It was noticed that clinging to the end of almost every hair of the cow's hide were innumerable lice. An effort was made to roughly estimate their number, and by taking a patch six inches square and counting them uid multiplying the remaining space a conservativeestimate put the number of lice on the cow in question at the ii.credible number of half a million. A farmei present made the observation that almost half the cows in the Waikato were infected with lice in the winter and early spring, and also that in Ms opinion this reduced their mill; yield at least one quarter. Just reckon the astounding waste. If "half the herds in the Waikato are infected with lice, and a-quartcr of their yield lost to tbn farmer, it means that thousands of pounds every yeai go to feed these hungry parasites. H<'iv, then, is « remedy: Buy a Tin or "THOMPSON'S UCbRINE," and smear ■< little down the animal's back. Liecrine kills them all. Ar absolutely new preparation, wonder ful in its results, Effective on Cattle Horses, ami Piys. 4
