LYCEUM PICTURES. WEDNESDAY/ Clara Kimball Young *has been described as thfi Bernhardt of the screen, for she is mistress of all the arts that make a successful emotional actress. Added to a womanly charm of great she is a finished actress in the ■ Best sense of the word, and her name alone on the star line of a new play is sufficient to guarantee an entertainment of high merit. On Wednesday she appears in a drama entitled "The Road Thro' the Dark," a story of the early period of the late war. The supports are gazette and scenic.
PUKEKOHE TECHNICAL HI6H SCHOOL. The second concert in aid of funds to assist the above will be held in the Premier Hall on Tuesday, November 2. The first part of the concert will b,e given by some of Auckland's leading singers, assisted by the best local talent. The second half will serve to introduce to the musicloving people of Pukekohe the Great Wild West Revue Company. This combination of laughter and mirthproducing artists are making their first appearance before a Pukekohe audience, and a night of rollicking fun and jollity is assured.
