THE FISHING SEASON
The Auckland Acclimatisation Society lias allocated fifty thousand trout fry to th<- streams of this district, and the first, consignment ol' 15,001.1 reached here on Wednesday and were successfully liberated ien the streams of the I!unuu Gorge by Messrs. P. M. Holt and Elliott. The frv were in first-class condition though rather tuuall. Good fishing is now available in the upper waters of the Maungatawhiri stream, an easy run of an hour bycar from Papakura.
