A deputaton from the Mamuewa Town Board waited upon the Frime Minister, Minister for Education, and various Departments on Monday and Tuesday, Messrs. T. J. Corin (chairman), Max D. King and Enos Peeler being the members of the deputation. They have been remarkably fortunate, and obtained every facility and much help. Mr. Massey laid himself ont to do all he could to help the deputation, and as a result the following points have been achieved:— The anuaey _foi\, thfi -S.BOQO l.Oitn i§ immediately available at a very low rate of interest.
The proposed extended new boundaries have been approved. Subsidies for Great South Road and recreation ground were favourably considered.
A subsidy of 10s in the £1 on the £2OOO Great South Road loan would mean another £IOOO.
Workers' homes are to be formally applied for. An increased amount will be voted for the new Manurewa Post Office, and fresh tenders called at once.
