RAGLAN LOAN POLL.

TO BORROW £12,000. PLANT AND MACHINERY. LIST OF POLLING BOOTHS. The Raglan County Council is taking a poll of its ratepayers on Saturday, October 9, J920, on a proposal to borrow £12,000 for new plant and machinery. The term is for 3GVj years, at the rate 5%, with 1 per cent, sinking fund. Like all other councils, the Raglan County Council is fully convinced that the ratepayers would get a much better return for their money, in the form of better roads and more of them, if up-to-date plant were available for the work. This proposition is now so well established both by engineers and intelligent laymen, that it needs no further argument to back it" up. It can confidently be predicted that enlightened self-interest on the part of the ratepayers will induce them to carry the loan proposal by a handsome majority. The polling places are enumerated in our advertising columns to-day.
