A RECORD SALE.

OF PEDIGREE CATTLE. tooivlu U*'.THE PRICES. uebpiu: nixavouiaDie weather con--luoiis there was a very large wtciiuance at wj peuigree stock saie j _iu in Measis. i>ucfciaiiU ana Sons' j .i.wioe i>a2diw, ruKtivoiie, yesteruay. | juytrs were present trom ail parts ~* tne pioviuce, nicluuing Coromanici, i\ galea, ie i'uKe, Unoroire, ti.orshe, Lpsom, Heiensviile, bwanson, wiiangarei, rrannton, ianeatua, Wha-.-vatane, fatetonga, Maungaturoto, wayby, Te Kuiti, Kauri, Maramarua, i"akapuna, Remuera, Claudelands, ana the surrounuing districts locally. Bidding thiougnout was fairly orisk, but at times interest seemed co be lacking. The quality of the stock submitted was of the best, and would compare very favourably wit* that submitted at pedigree sales anywhere in New Zealand. The majority of the stock appeared to be somewhat low in condition, and this nodoubt, was the reason of some higher prices not being obtained. Nevertheless, the figures obtained were very satisfactory, and practically every lot was disposed of under the hammer.

The sale was conducted by Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd. Top price of the day was obtained by Mr. R. F. Wilkinson of Pukekohe, whose cow, Woodland's Belle, realised 155 guineas, being purchased by Mr. E. Shepherd, of Otahuhu. The same owner's Reid Park Maiden, a splendid beast, was passed in at 170 guineas, while another of the herd, Beachland's Golden Lily, was sold to Ewing Bros., Whangarata, for 150 guineas. Ensley Rita fetched 125 guineas, as also Vid Patricienne. Mr. R. Harper, of Woodhill, had a most successful sale. The cow, Mangere Belle, realised next to top price, being disposed of for 140 guineas to Mr. T. Pollock, of Pukekohe. Rozel Grizette brought 121 guineas. Several other lots realised up to 120 guineas. The bulls in some cases appeared to go rather cheap. Top price was obtained by Mr. E. R. Allen, of Mauku, for Miro Meadow's Spot, which was bought by Mr. Geo. Hill, of Taneatua, for 130 guineas. The next best .price of the day was 125 guineas for Mr. R. Harper's Fernaig Dummy, which was acquired by Mr. A. H. Chambers, of Te Puke. One hundred and twenty guineas was paid by Mr. P. Keegan, of Whakatane, for the local bull, Golden Sovereign. Other lots realised excellent prices. On the whole the sale was a record one, and if the associated cattle breeders of the Auckland Province, under whose auspices the sale was held, decide to hold annual sales, everything auguis well for the future. ■ Following are the names of buyers and prices obtained:— PEDIGREE JERSEY COWS AND
