TUAKAU TOWN BOARD.
SPECIAL WiLETUiG. A special meeting of the Tuakr.u Town Board was held on Friday last, when there were present: Mcs-jis. ,viies Fulton (ciiaiiman), G. Arrowmitn, C. h. finch, G. S. Lapwooo, a*. Pirret, W. J. Taylor, J. B. Sun, „d the cierk (Mr. A. H. lappcr), There was considerable discussion egaiding works in progress ami .Oiks to be put in hand. Eventually t was decided that the chairman proeeu to Wellington to endeavour to jiocure a sub&iuy towards tne Harisviiie Road woik, tq see the general .nanager of railways in connexion ,vith the overhead bridge and the .llling in of the hole near the railway atation and Post Olhce; to tec about Mb town hail .loan, and a subeidj thereon; to procure the balnce, jiliOUU, of the Tuakau £12,000 special loan, i'JIT; and any other matters pertaining to the board. Building permits were granted the farmers' Union Trading Company, who intend effecting improvements at their store in George Street, and to Mr. H. J. Woodbridge for a new residence.
