SUCCESSFUL DAIRY SALE.
HIGH AVERAGE PRICES. One of the most successful dairy cattle sales yet conducted in this district took 'place at Messrs. Percy Boyd and Gilroy's farm at Patumahoe on Wednesday last. There was a fairly large attendance of buyers from" all the surrounding- districts, while numbers hailed from as far as Te Kuiti, Te Aroha, Ngongotaha (near Rotorua) and the Waikato. The cows, which were Jersey-Short-horn cross, were indeed a particularly choice )ot, and some good prices were realised. The 40 milking cows averaged £23 10s, Prices ranged from £2B 10s to £4l for the best; others £ll 10s to £27 10s. Pigs: Sows fetched from 810 10s to £ls, slips £3 5s to £3 10s, boar £4 17* (id, The sale, which was an unqualified success, was conducted by Messrs. Alfred Huckland and Sons, Ltd.
