The course of two and a- \ halt miles was, in the estimation of the members of the Pakuranga Hunt the best they had ever had for their meeting. The horses were started froiji about' half-way across Mr. Sharp's farm, the lirst jump being a brush fence; then the course took a turn, and after two more jumps reached a narrow part of Messrs. Lynch's field, then across the road into the same property, traversing across this farm into Mr. H. CadnessY, where it took a long sweep, and turnipg came back again to Messrs. Lynch's farm, the last jump* being a thorn hedge, partly cut down, the finish being on a slight rise by the natural grandstand. Hecord entries had been received for all the events, and keen interest was taken in all, but, locally, the interest centred on the local fanners' race, for which 14 entries were. received, 11 of which took the field.
