TECHNICAL EDUCATION
NATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
The Nelson City Council holds <that education is a national concern, and is endeavouring to promulgate this view, as witness the following resolution which came before, the Franklin County Council on Thursday iri a circular letter:--"That the Minister of Education be written to and informed that the council does not consider it is in the province of local bodies to provide funds for technical education, and that owing to this being a matter of national importance the Government should undeitake the whole of the expense of education on a liberal scale." Received.
