Pretty Anita Stewart in. her latest first National feature, "Mary Reran," the screen version of Tie Roy Scott's great novel, has the difficult role of a girl loved by two men, vet in her heart convinced that she should not marry at all because she is tne daughter of a notorious criminal who is serving a long sentence for robbery. She decides to marry the younger of the men. the son of a capitalist, whom she desires to save from ruin which is pursuing him in the fast life in New York's "Great White Way." How she battles against wily blackmailers who are seeking the forU,;-..' of l'.si y.v.ng husband, and now u 1; > t she is saved by a detective who loves her, is thrillingly told. This is one of the linest pictures that Anita Stewart has vet done.
SNOOKER TOURNAMENT. i'o; some time past a snooker tournament has been in progress at Mr. Geo. Armstrong's billiard saloon. On Thursday next, commencing at 7 p.m., the semi-finals and final will be played between L. Short (scr.) and ('. Weston (rec. 2o), and T. Maxwell (scr.) and 11. Mitchell (rec. 22). The principal figure in this portrayal is William S. Hart, well known to all picture fans. This story is clean and wholesome, but contains action and thrill in every foot of film.
