Mr. J. Jones, auctioneer, City Markets, reports sales for week ending i§ August 21:— » This week heavy consignr.Jpts of * produce have arrived potatoes and chaff being the principal lines. A good demand exists for alt classes of produce, and the market shows very little change. The • poultry market, owing to the very "* rough weath, was not heavily supplied, and values therefore were a shade firmer. We penned over 150 > turkeys, and on the whole they sold at very satisfactory prices. Pigs, short supply, market very firm. Fruittfß coming forward still in heavy supp!y,V market jjteady. Butter and cheese market firmer. Seed potatoes, pumpkins, kumeras selling well. Red car- v rots in good demand. We quote:— Poultry: Roosters, prime heavy, Gsr 3d to 7s 4d; good, 6s lid to 6s; light, 4s Gd to 4s lOd.
