POPULAR PICTURES. I TO-NIGHT. j RIDERS OP THE PURPLE SAGE. ; The above film, a description of which has already appeared in the •Times,*' will be screened to-night. There will be no pictures at the Oddfellows' Hall on Tuesday night, but on Friday, July 30, "Claws of the Hun," a good dramatic feature, will be screened. On Tuesday, August 3, a fine special feature, "M'Liss," with Mary Pickforcl in the leading role, will be shown. Further particulars next issue. LYCEUM PICTURES. SATURDAY. Geraldine Farrar, a noted actress who has only appeared* in Pukekohe on few occasions, will star in a Goldwyn drama, "The Stronger Vow." at. the Premier Hall to-morrow evening. This is the story of a Spanish vendetta. It is full of dramatic intensity and flaming emotions, a storv of the underworld. It is one of Geraldine Farrar's greatest efforts. The story is adapted' from the book by Isola Forrester. A.gazette and an interest study * complete the programme.

RETURN OF TARZAN.

TUESDAY NEXT. The production of '.'The Komance mance of Tarzaiv" is on the same lavish scale that marked its great predecessor. Money has been spent on this picture without stint.* The story opens with Tarzan leaving the jungle and going to England, where he soon gets tired of the civilization he did not understand, and eventually returned to the jungle, and to his old friends of the wilds. The strange adventures from then on make the most startling picture imaginable. There has been introduced into the film troupes of the different wild animals and native people* of Africa. The box plan is at The Bookery. SKATING. This Friday evening: also Monday afternoon and evening, usual sessions.
