PERSONAL.

Mr. A. P. Daysh, secretary of the Franklin Racing Club, will be leaving Pukekohe by Sunday night's express to attend the Racing Conference at Wellington.

Mr. C. Clarke, proprietor of the Pnkekohe Hotel, is laid up v.ith an attack of rheumatism and eyelitis, the latter an old recurring trouble. Mr. Clarke passed a rather bad night, but showed improvement this morning. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. D. Goodwin, victims of a recent vehicle capsize, will be pleased to learn that both are making good progress towards recovery. Mr. Goodwin was able to leave his bed for a short while yesterday, but Mrs. Goodwin is still suffering from nervous shock.
