FRANKLIN MARKET REPORT
The Franklin Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At our usual weeKiy sale on Friday we had the average attendance, with fair entries of pigs and poultry, but not sufficient to meet the remand. Prices for pigs showed a dccH'jJ upward tendency. Wsaners (good) realised 28s to 31s, others 10s to 15s. Poultry, in strong demand. Hens sold at 3s to 3s 9d, roosters (aged) 4s. Ducks 3s 3d to 4s 9d. One pen purebred Black Orpingtons brought 10s each. Apples: Good, 9s. Others from 4s to 7s. Potatoes, 8s cwt. Cabbage (good) Gs doz. Pumpkins 6s cwt. Sundries sold at usual rates.
On Wednesday, June 30, we 'ield a (lefranee sale at Mrs. A. Davies, Paelata. Bidding throughout was brisk and satisfactory prices were realised for all lines. Cows sold at from £lO to £l3 10s; heifers, til 15s to £l3 10s: calves. £3 8s; drill, £29; mowing machine, £ll 15s; reaper and binder? £2O. Sundries sold at usual rates.
